Meeting of the Expert Advisory Body of the Maritime Board affiliated to the Government of the Russian Federation

A meeting of the Expert Advisory Body (EAB) of the Maritime Board affiliated to the Government of the Russian Federation was held in Moscow on October 16, 2020 at the MIREA Russian Technological University.

According to the agenda, the experts discussed the state of the seaports of the Russian Federation and the prospects of their development, approved the Statute of the Expert Advisory Body, and heard a report on additional education in the field of state management of maritime activities. Presentation and informative video about the basic results of the expedition of the Russian Navy, devoted to the 200th anniversary of discovery of Antarctica and 250th anniversary of the birthday of Admiral I.F. Krusenstern were presented by the Head of the EAB naval activity section, representative of the Russian Navy Major Subordinate Command, Candidate of Technical Science Popov Andrey Mikhailovich. On the annual report "On Comprehensive Assessment of the State of National Security of the Russian Federation in the Field of Maritime Activities", presented by the Government of the Russian Federation to the President of the Russian Federation, a speech by the Secretary of the EAB of the Maritime Board Kotenev Mikhail Borisovich was heard.

With the purpose of realization of positions of Strategy of development of shipbuilding industry for the period till 2035, in a segment of ship repair and maintenance service of ships of commercial fleet and Navy ships of the Ministry of Defense of Russia within the limits of full life cycle, the expert of the EAB the General Director of ROSFLOTSERVICE LLC Parshin Roman Viktorovich made a proposal to establish a working group on ship repair and maintenance service in the structure of the EAB. Chairman of the EAB Lev Mikhailovich Klyachko, Secretary of the EAB Mikhail Borisovich Kotenev, Adviser to the President of AO "OSK" Vladimir Semenovich Nikitin, colleagues from the General Staff of the Russian Navy and members of the EAB participating in the meeting via video-conference communication supported Parshin's initiative to establish a working group.

The working group will continue to work jointly with the Department of the Shipbuilding Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the OSK Corporation colleagues to implement the provisions of the Strategy for the development of the shipbuilding industry for the period up to 2035.
