Meeting in a videoconference format on improvement of the quality and increase of the share of civilian products at the enterprises of the defense industry complex

Yesterday, the League of assistance to defense enterprises and Soyuzmash of Russia held a meeting of the Defense industry  committee in a videoconference format under the leadership of the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Military Industrial Commission of the Russian Federation O. I. Bochkarev, on the topic "Improvement of the quality and increase of the share of civilian products at the enterprises of the defense industry complex. Functional and cost analysis as a tool for continuous improvement of product quality".

One of the proved methods for improvement of the product quality is the method of functional cost analysis (FSA) - a method of systematic research of object functions in order to find a balance between cost and utility. As practice shows, with the proper use of the FSA, it is possible to achieve a reduction in production costs by an average of 15 - 25%.

Using this method will also improve the quality of products, both defense and civil, and reduce production costs, which is extremely relevant and important at present time.

The FSA method can be used not only for the product analysis, but also for the analysis and optimization of business processes, taking into account the use of modern information technologies.

According to the results of voting, the majority of the participants taking part in the webinar have confirmed the use of FSA business processes at their enterprises, and they are ready to participate in face-to-face events on the topic of FSA and believe that the FSA will increase the competitiveness of enterprises, and for this purpose it is necessary to develop or update the existing methods at enterprises.
