Hull repair of a freefall lifeboat in the port of Novorossiysk

During the survey in the port of Novorossiysk, inspectors of the Port State Control discovered hull damage of the lifeboat.

Those shortfalls had to be eliminated before completion of cargo loading works and leaving the berth.

SF Department of LLC “ROSFLOTSERVICE" conducted repair works on repairing hull damages of the freefall lifeboat (FF lifeboat).

Repairs were carried out according to a technology agreed upon and approved by the maritime register, using a three-component polymer compound recommended by the boat manufacturer. To accelerate the hardening of the compound, drying was carried out under UV rays.

Upon completion of the repair, the boat was tested for water flow and certificates were issued confirming the repairs carried out and guaranteeing the possibility of using this boat as part of the vessel’s emergency and safety equipment on board the vessel.
