Taking part in meeting of the Expert Board affiliated with the State Duma Committee for Economic Policy

Roman Viktorovich Parshin, General Director of ROSFLOTSERVICE, took part in the meeting of the Expert Board and the Committee.

On October 25, 2018, a meeting of the Expert Board affiliated with the State Duma Committee for Economic Policy, Industry, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship for the development of the shipbuilding industry and marine engineering was held in the State Duma along with the Committee on the Shipbuilding Industry and Marine Engineering.

The topic of the meeting: "Prospects for the development of cruise shipping in high latitudes."

Along with the Chairman of the Expert Board, A.Rakhmanov, President JSC “USC”, First Vice-President of the Russian Engineering Union Vladimir Gutenev opened the meeting and delivered a welcoming speech.

Vladimir Vladimirovich focused attention of the audience on the actual topic of the development of the Arctic and interest in this area, including among tourists. "Icebreaking cruises are one of the most promising areas of tourism in the world and it is important for us to develop this niche now, which, in turn, will give impetus to the development of domestic shipbuilding," said Vladimir Gutenev.

The head of USC, Aleksei Rakhmanov, told about modern Russian icebreakers at the meeting, both under construction and undergoing tests. Given this fact, as well as the unique geographical location of our country, the interest of foreign travelers and the competence of domestic shipbuilders, I am sure that Russia has every chance to take a leading position in this segment.
